MAD: Music, Art & Drama MAD is a highly successful program which currently resides at Wood Street Centre. The MAD Program is broken up into two semesters. The MAD 9/10 program is held every Fall semester. The goal of the program is to provide students with a solid foundation in creative dramatics, acting, stagecraft, music, dance, and play writing fundamentals. The students will also recieve their English and Socials credits.
The MAD 11/12 program is held in the Spring semester and provides students with four to five four credit courses including: grade 11 or 12 English, grade 11 Socials, CAPP 11/12, Acting 11 or 12 and a choice between several fine arts and applied skill courses at the grade 11 and 12 level.
In the first semester the 9/10 class presents 2-3 shows for schools and for the public. Traditionally these shows are the 'Haunted House', the 'Winter Show' and the "Variety Show".
In the Second semester the students present 2-3 shows for schools and for the public which are: a ‘Variety Show’, a ‘Final Musical Production’ and a student lead creation.
